Shinigami Kami of Death Cupronickel Ring
Shinigami Kami of Death Cupronickel Ring
Shinigami (Japanese: 死神, lit. 'kami of death') are kami that invite humans toward death in certain aspects of Japanese religion and culture. Similar to the figure of the Grim Reaper in the west, Shinigami are neither good nor evil, but definitive.
The Shinigami became famous in the west due to the anime Bleach.
In Shinto and Japanese mythology, Izanami gave humans death, so she is sometimes seen as a Shinigami.
This ring is handcrafted of cupronickel, an alloy silver in color, consisting of copper, nickel and strengthening elements, such as iron and manganese. Cupronickel is highly resistant to corrosion, being used in the maritime industry.
This particular ring has a nickel content of 25%, giving it a silver luster, but making it inadequate for anyone with a nickel allergy.
