The samurai are frequently said to represent the soul of Japan. It is also said that this soul resides in the samurai's sword, the Katana.

The katana, with its razor-sharp edge and perfectly balanced design, demands respect. It is a tangible representation of the values of honor, discipline, and loyalty that defined the samurai code.

The traditional katana was made using Tamahagane, which is an alloy of steel created by heating satetsu – iron sand – in a furnace in temperatures reaching 1000C (1830F), and then adding charcoal to increase the carbon content of the alloy.

The ring was created to celebrate the superlative Japanese sword making skills.

Tungsten Carbide is a highly resistant alloy made of equal parts of Tungsten and Carbon. Tungsten Carbide is twice as hard as steel, and can only be polished and finished with abrasives of superior hardness such as cubic boron nitride and diamond powder, making it one of the most resistant rings you will ever have.
