Inari Okami 925 Silver Foxtail Necklace
Inari Okami 925 Silver Foxtail Necklace
Inari Ōkami (Japanese: 稲荷大神), also called Ō-Inari (大稲荷), is the Japanese kami of foxes, fertility, rice, tea and sake, agriculture and industry, and general prosperity and worldly success, and is one of the principal kami of Shinto, and foxes (Kitsune in Japanese) are the kami’s messengers.
As envoys from one of the most important gods in Shintoism, foxes (kitsune) are highly regarded, and offerings of rice, sake, and other food are given at the shrine to appease and please these kitsune messengers, who are then expected to plead with Inari on the worshipper's behalf.
Handmade by master artisans, the Inari Okami 925 Silver Foxtail Necklace is made on the centuries old foxtail style, meaning that there is a clearly visible “V” on the chain. The chain is 10.5mm wide and 6mm thick. The 50cm long chain weighs 28.5g, the 65 cm long weighs 48.5g.
